I've had some pretty wild dreams in my day, varying and some of them very visceral and real, from alien abductions, to gang violence and devil cult worshipings  all with me in the eye of the storm. Trekking the continuum of sleep and wakefulness in a journey into metaconsciousness. And as if the science of sleep and the emotional function of dreaming weren't fascinating enough, lucid dreaming comes in the bewilder even further. Lucid dreaming is a dream state in which you're able to manipulate the plot of your dream and control the subconscious of your mind most active when dreaming, therefore allowing your to manipulate your experience/s within your dream. This film is a really great take on the waking life/dream state metaconciousness which follows a man shuffling through a dream and meeting various people and discussing the meanings and purposes of life.

Inca Girl Frozen for 500 Years

Scientists examine a 15-year old girl who lived in the Inca Empire, then was sacrificed and remained frozen for over 500 years. Unearthed in 1999 from the 22,000-foot summit of Mount Llullaillaco, a volcano 300 miles west of here near the Chilean border, their frozen bodies were amoung the best preserved mummies ever found, with internal organs intact, blood still present in the heart and lungs, and skin and facial features mostly unscathed. No special effort had been made to preserve them. The cold and the dry, this air did all the work. They froze to death as they slept, and 500 years later still looked like sleeping children, not mummies.

The Euthanasia Coaster

The Euthanasia Coaster is a concept for a steel roller coaster designed to kill its passengers. In 2010, it was designed and made into a scale model by Julijonas Urbonas, a PhD candidate at the Royal College of Art in London. Urbonas, who has worked at an amusement park, stated that the goal of his concept roller coaster is to take lives “with elegance and euphoria.” It is a ride to the death. The seven loops or “inversions” put the human body under such stress that it causes the brain to be starved of oxygen, as the heart simply cannot push blood against the enormous g-forces. Even if it kills you, it is designed to still be a fun death. An honourable thought, if rather macabre.
